ವರ್ಧನ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಗುಪ್ತ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅವನತಿಯ ನಂತರ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಧನ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವೂ ಒಂದು. ಈ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ವರ್ಧನ. ಅವನ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಥಾನೇಶ್ವರ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇವರನ್ನು ಥಾನೇಶ್ವರದ ವರ್ಧನರೆಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ವರ್ಧನ ಶಕ್ತಿಶಾಲಿಯೂ ಶೂರನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆತನಿಗೆ ರಾಜವರ್ಧನ, ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜಶ್ರೀಯೆಂಬ ಮೂವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ವರ್ಧನನ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ರಾಜವರ್ಧನನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಧುರ್ಧೈವದಿಂದ ಆತನ ಕೊಲೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನನು ಕ್ತಿ.ಶ.606 ರಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ 647 ರವರೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.  ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನನು ಮಾಳ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನೋಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಸದೆಬಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನನ ತಂಗಿ ರಾಜಶ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಮೌಖೇರಿಯ ಗೃಹವರ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿವಾಹ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಡಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಾಳ್ವದ ದೇವಗುಪ್ತನು ಗೃಹವರ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕೊಲೆಗೈದು, ರಾಜಶ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಂಧನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸದ ಅಂದಿನ ರಾಜ ರಾಜವರ್ಧನನು ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿಹೋಗಿ ಸೋಲಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮುಂದೆ ಗೌಡ ದೇಶದ ಶಶಾಂಕನು ಮಿತ್ರನ ವೇಷ ಧರಿಸಿ ಬಂದು ರಾಜವರ್ಧನನ ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನ ಹರ್ಷವರ್ಧನನು ಬಲುಶಕ್ತಿಶಾಲಿ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಟನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸುಮಾರು 40 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ. ಆತನ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಉತ್ತರದಲ...
